In South Korea, a man in his 90s, A, was arrested by police for firing a gas gun for self-defense at a monk. On the 15th, according to the Gyeongju Police Station in Gyeongsangbuk-do, suspect A was arrested on the same day.
At around 12:49 p.m. on the 12th, a man was arrested on the spot for allegedly firing a gas gun for self-defense at a monk in his 70s in the face at a temple in Gyeongju. The day in question was "Buddha's Birthday."
The gas gun was confirmed to contain pepper liquid. The monk complained of vomiting and was taken to a nearby hospital.
Suspect A, who was a follower of the temple, had a personal relationship with the monk. Police plan to investigate the details of the incident and then file charges against suspect A and the monk.
