Security camera footage of singer Kim Ho Joong on the day of the accident has been made public. On the 18th, SBS reported that Kim Ho Joong had been killed 20 minutes after arriving at his residence in Gangnam-gu, Seoul, at around 11:15 pm on the 9th.
The video also showed Kim Ho Joong returning home in a white sedan, wandering around his house and then getting into a white SUV.
He then got into a car and left the house again. The accident is believed to have occurred after that. YTN also released security camera footage showing Kim Ho Joong leaving the house again after returning home.
Kim Ho Joong was hit by a taxi coming from the opposite direction on the road in Apgujeong, Gangnam-gu, Seoul at around 11:40 pm on the 9th.
After the accident, Kim Ho Joong's manager turned himself in first, but Kim Ho Joong did not respond to the police's request to appear and stayed at the hotel.
He stayed there and showed up at the police station 17 hours later, at around 4:30pm on the 10th. He was accused of drunk driving, but the management office maintained that Kim Ho Joong had not been drinking.
He stated that the CEO of his office himself instructed his manager to turn himself in after the accident, and that the memory card of the dashcam from the missing vehicle
The manager claims that he damaged it of his own volition. Police are investigating the possibility of Kim Ho Joong's drunk driving and evidence of an organized cover-up by the management office itself.
On the 16th, police conducted searches of the homes and offices of Kim Ho Joong and the management company, Saenggak Entertainment CEO Lee Kwang Deuk, and as a result of the searches, Kim Ho Joong's cell phone
According to the police, the Seoul Gangnam Police Station received the results of a urine test from a national forensic investigator the previous day, which showed that Kim Ho Joong had been drinking alcohol before the accident.
The agency has summoned management office officials who are suspected of systematically concealing Kim Ho Joong's traffic accident for questioning and is considering applying for an arrest warrant.
Meanwhile, Kim Ho Joong will be hosting the Changwon concert "Tubarotti Classic Arena Tour 2024" today.
The move has attracted attention as the company has made it clear that it will go ahead with the plan without cancelling it.
