Fatherland Reform Party to hold first all-party convention on July 20 to elect new party leader (South Korea)
The Fatherland Reform Party will hold a nationwide party conference (all-party conference) on July 20 to elect a new party leadership, including party chairpersons and supreme committee members.
On the afternoon of the 20th, the Fatherland Reform Party announced in a press release that it would hold its first national party member conference on July 20th after the party was founded.
"At this party convention, we will elect the party leader and two members of the supreme committee, and we plan to pass the party constitution, party regulations, and amendments. The party leader and the supreme committee will hold a three-day meeting from July 18th to 21st.
The party members will be selected through electronic voting, which will be held over a 10-day period, and party members who have paid their party dues by June 30 will be automatically selected as electors.
The July 20th Party Congress will be held at the 10th Convention Hall in Seoul. Secretary General Hwang Hee-sun was selected as the preparatory committee chairman for the party conference. Secretary General Hwang said, "We are aiming to double the number of party members by holding this July 20th Party Congress.
"We will take on the task of documenting the 'vision' of the Fatherland Reform Party to be announced at the all-party conference."
The party will also launch a 'vision committee.' At a delegation meeting held at the party headquarters in Yeouido, Seoul, Cho Kuk said to the vision committee, "A vision is, in terms of the constitution,
It will be a document that condenses the Fatherland Reform Party’s constitution and rules, which corresponds to the text of the Constitution. It will be a document that will hold deep discussions on the direction we will inherit and move forward, based on Korean political philosophy and history, rather than foreign political history or ideology.
"I want them to discuss the matter and create a vision in written form," he said. The Fatherland Reform Party also stated, "Article 1 of the Fatherland Reform Party Constitution stipulates that the abbreviation for the party name, 'Fatherland Reform Party,' will be 'Reform Party,' and
"We have decided to include this in the proposed amendments to the party constitution that will be passed in the future."
