Seoul University ”Nth Room Incident”... Photo of junior female college student was photoshopped and indecent material was distributed = Korea

A Seoul National University student was arrested by police for distributing obscene material in a group chat room that contained a photo of a junior female college student's face and sexually mocking her.
According to police on the 21st, the Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency's Cyber Investigation Unit arrested a suspect in his 40s, surnamed Park, on charges of creating and distributing false videos.
According to police, Park created obscene material by combining photos posted on the victims' social media accounts with other photos and videos, and distributed them through a group chat room on Telegram.
The number of victims known to date is around 20, of which 12 have filed complaints with the police.
According to yesterday's MBC report, Park had been attending university for over 10 years and had known the victims, and had obtained information about them.
They then spread the synthetic obscene material they had created along with personal information such as the victim's name and age in group chat rooms. Participants called the victims "this season's prey" and other names.
Park reportedly continued to subject the victim to psychological pressure by capturing chat rooms where such exchanges took place and forwarding them to the victim, demanding a response.
Park's crimes continued for more than three years, and it took about two years from the first victim to be handed over to the prosecution. Park continued his crimes even after a complaint was filed with the police.
Police are expanding their investigation, as they believe there may be other accomplices besides Park. Two other men arrested along with Park were also reported to be from Seoul University.
