Hyundai Group unveils bird's-eye view of new cultural complex, including observation deck and ”urban forest” (South Korea)
Hyundai Motor Group recently released a bird's-eye view of the Global Business Complex (GBC), a new multi-cultural space it is building in Samseong-dong, Seoul.
The group will not only use GBC as a base for its next-generation mobility business, but also turn it into a familiar landmark by developing a large-scale green space and opening it to the general public.
The GBC is a 242-meter-tall, 55-story tower complex that is home to a variety of MICE (meetings, inspections, international conferences, exhibitions and trade fairs) facilities, as well as a low-rise building where a variety of programs are held.
It consists of six buildings, including four on the upper level. The tower building will be equipped with next-generation mobility technologies such as renewable energy, autonomous driving, special purpose vehicles (PBV), and urban air mobility systems (UAM).
The facility will integrate digital technologies with the building's infrastructure and will be operated using cutting-edge digital technologies such as big data, cloud computing, and artificial intelligence (AI).
The upper floors will house an observatory where visitors to GBC can enjoy views of the Hangang River and Gangnam areas, as well as a luxury hotel.
In order to strengthen the public nature of the complex, it has also been decided to create a lush "urban forest" in the center of the complex that anyone can visit.
It will also serve as a pedestrian hub within the "International Exchange Complex District," which connects the COEX exhibition center, GBC, and the Han River.
