South Korea's ”eraser service” for deleting online articles sees over 16,000 uses in one year

The Korea Personal Information Protection Commission announced that in the past year that it has operated the "eraser service," the number of online articles deleted from the internet has reached 16,518.
The service will help people delete online articles they created as children or teenagers that contain personal information. Anyone under the age of 30 can apply for deletion.
The committee will analyze the results of the "eraser service" trial conducted in 2023 and gather opinions from a roundtable discussion held for those in the field, and will decide to start the service from early 2024.
The age limit for the creation of online articles to be deleted has been raised from under 18 to under 19. The age limit for using the service has also been raised from under 24 to under 30.
The number of applications for the service has reached 17,148, of which 16,518 have been processed.
Not only is it a service that will actually support young people by deleting personal information, but it also plays an important role in fostering awareness of protecting personal information from an early age.
