Macau hotels see 1.159 million guests in April: Chinese report

According to data from the Macau Government Statistics and Census Bureau, the number of hotel guests in Macau reached 1.159 million in April this year, up 5.6% from the same period last year. This was due to the COVID-19 virus outbreak.
Compared to the same period in 2019, the number of guests from mainland China increased by 11.8% to 823,000, while guests from Hong Kong increased by 35%.
The average hotel occupancy rate in April rose to 83.3% from 79.3% in the same period last year. The average length of stay was 1.6 nights.
In addition, the average room occupancy rate from January to April this year increased by 8.4 points year-on-year to 84.5%. The total number of overnight guests was 4,939,000.
