Hanwha Aerospace and Hanwha Solutions donated 12 billion won (US$13.7 billion) each in May, while Hanwha Systems donated 6.4 billion won (US$73.1 billion).
Hanwha Group Chairman Kim Seung-yeon also announced plans to buy 920 million won (US$100 million) worth of shares in group company M2N, as well as 42 million won (US$400 million) in cash.
Chairman Kim donated 320 million won (approximately 36.57 million yen) in cash, and the Hanwha Group's Vice Chairman Kim Dong-kwan and other owners of the group donated 100 million won (approximately 100 million yen).
Three brothers from the same family each donated about 213 million won (about 24.33 million yen). Prior to this, the group had been trying to attract the Pompidou Center since 2018.
In March 2018, the two companies signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) to agree on the operation of the "Pompidou Center Hanwha Seoul" (tentative name).
The plan is to close "To63" at the end of June and open the Pompidou Centre there.
