Korean Medical Association to close all clinics on 18th, declaring ”medical emergency” in South Korea

On the 9th, the Korean Medical Association (KMA) announced that it would declare the current conflict over medical policies a "medical emergency" and launch an all-out struggle.
The Medical Association held a "National Doctors Representatives Conference" at the Medical Association Hall at 2 p.m. on the same day, and first announced a general strike action for all members.
They announced the results of a survey and said they would be taking a leave of absence from the 18th and holding a general rally in which medical students, parents, and the entire nation would participate.
This survey had the highest participation rate ever, with 63.3% of the 111,861 eligible voters voting. The total number of voting members was 70,800, of which 90.6%
In fact, 52,015 members answered that they would take part in collective action, meaning 73.5% expressed an intention to take part.

Chairman Lim said, "We are issuing a stern warning to the government. It must stop promoting oppressive policies and apologize to the public." He added, "We must apologize to the medical interns and medical students and take responsibility for this situation."
"The government officials responsible for this should be fired," they called. The Korean Medical Association also stressed that it "will not stop fighting with all its might until the medical system in the Republic of Korea is properly restored."
Chairman Lim said, "As the entire medical community comes together, I ask you to join forces and fight vigorously to prevent medical abuse and bring about the normalization of medical care."
He called for members to join the strike. Meanwhile, representatives of doctors from around the country who attended the representatives' conference wore sashes on their shoulders and advocated the slogan, "One-sided policy promotion, the collapse of the medical system.
"To save essential medical care, fair medical fees must be guaranteed," and "Doctors will rebuild Korea's medical system, which the government has destroyed."
