The double title track of ‘aespa's’ first full album, ‘Supernova’, will be used as the background music for the ‘IMAGINE Show’, a large-scale water entertainment show to be held at Festival Bay in front of Dubai Festival City Mall for one year from the 9th June (local time). A launch event will be held today (14th) to celebrate the event.
The IMAGINE Show is a Dubai tourist attraction, which was recognised by Guinness World Records for the world's largest water screen projection and permanent projection mapping when it opened in 2016, and features a fountain show set to music and over 70 colour projectors, LED lighting, lasers, drones and other cutting-edge equipment, The entertainment show, which utilises over 70 colour projectors, LED lights, lasers, drones and other advanced devices, provides a spectacular 360-degree panoramic view from Festival Bay to the exterior walls of neighbouring hotel buildings.
Following the earlier selection of SUHO's (EXO) solo song ‘Hurdle’ as the first K-pop song, ‘Supernova’ by ‘aespa’ will be the first K-pop girl group song to echo Dubai as background music for the ‘IMAGINE Show’. The song will be the first K-pop girl group song to be featured as the background music on the ‘IMAGINE Show’ in Dubai.
The new song ‘Supernova’ has topped the weekly charts of Melon, Genie and Bugs, as well as the Circle Weekly Chart, the Global K-Pop Chart, the Digital Chart and the Streaming Chart, for three weeks in a row. They have shown their presence on various domestic and international charts, such as winning four titles for three consecutive weeks, and also ranking first for five consecutive weeks on the overall K-Pop chart of five music source platforms under Tencent Music in China and on the QQ Music Overall and Korean Music Video Charts.
Meanwhile, ‘aespa’ will hold their second world tour ‘2024 aespa LIVE TOUR - SYNK : Parallel Line - starting from 29th-30th June in Seoul, and on 3rd July will release their debut single ‘Hot Mess’ in Japan.
