The release event "ALBUM RELEASE EVENT IN JAPAN Expecting
Korean boy band "ASC2NT", who is holding "Tomorrow", had an interview with wowKorea.
The group is made up of 5 members: KARAM, INJUN, and JAY, who were active in the group "The Boss," and REON and KYLE, who are new members of the "5th generation."
Q. Hello! First of all, please tell us about the group "ASC2NT".
KARAM: We, ASC2NT, are a group that means taking on a second life. The distinctive feature that the members want to emphasize is
Q. You debuted on May 7th with your title song "LOVE ME DO". Congratulations! Title
Please tell us about your first and debut song, "LOVE ME DO". KYLE: "LOVE ME DO"
"DO" is a medium tempo song that uses guitar and synth brass.
The song contains a message that we will support the dreams of everyone who listens to ASC2NT's songs and share the hope and passion of ASC2NT.
Q. Do you have any memorable stories from your debut? INJUN: This was the first time for REON and KYLE to shoot a music video.
KARAM, myself, and JAY all knew how hard it was, but the two new guys didn't seem to know anything about it. They said they were so tired after staying up late for two days that they would fall asleep as soon as they sat down.
It seems he couldn't believe it. This experience made him realize how hard it is to shoot a music video. JAY: "LOVE ME
During the recording of "DO," he joked to his youngest member, Kyle, "There are rules in the recording booth. For example, you can't go in with your shoes on."
I told him. He believed it all. KYLE: I didn't believe it at first, but my brothers kept telling me, "It's true," and then INJUN said, "I'm going to record it.
The booth is a singing space, so you have to take your shoes off to avoid dust." I thought, "I see," so I took my shoes off and went in. Then the older guys burst out laughing.
Q. KARAM, INJUN, and JAY have been working together as former members of "The Boss" for a long time. New members REON and KYLE will join the group.
I wonder what you think of each other now that you're a group of five. Have you become good friends? INJUN: We're really good friends. We go bowling almost every day on our days off.
Although we are all members, it doesn't feel that way at all. It feels like we've been together for a long time. Life in the dorms is fun, and we've never had a fight during practice.
KARAM: The two were selected through auditions, and INJUN, JAY and I also participated in the auditions, and we placed importance on humanity and courtesy during the selection process. I guess that's why it was a good choice (laughs).
REON: Of course I get along well with my hyungs. INJUN hyung is active and cheerful and always makes me happy. KARAM hyung works hard at his job and always treats us well.
They take care of me. Jay is the most calm person, and it's always fun to hear him say something quietly. KYLE is loved by everyone. If he wants something, everyone supports him.
KYLE: We all have great personalities and get along well. We quickly became friends and have the same hobbies. JAY and I exercise and bowl together,
I play soccer with KARAM hyung. We have a lot in common, so we quickly became friends. Q. What is the meaning behind ASC2NT's fan name "Eppy"?
REON: Eppy is taken from the English word "episode". The group name has the meaning of opening a second life, a second act, so it feels like a book.
It represents the episode in the book where Star 2 begins. We took the first two letters to make it Eppy. Q. What do you think is the charm of the new group ASC2NT?
KYLE: The appeal of us, ASC2NT, is that we are the 5th generation with a touch of the 2nd generation. We have the sophistication of the 2nd generation and the youthfulness of the 5th generation.
INJUN: Each of us in ASC2NT has our own unique voice, and I think the vocal tone we have when we sing together as a group of five is very appealing.
JAY: Our strength is our live shows. We know our appeal very well, so we focus on live performances when we practice, and often practice using handheld microphones.
Q. Please tell us what you think you are the best at in the team!
KYLE: I'm the biggest eater. I can eat more than my four older brothers.
INJUN: I know it sounds strange for me to say this, but I think it's cuteness (laughs). The standards for cuteness are different in Korea and Japan, but I won't compromise on my cuteness!
KARAM: As the leader, I control the overall balance. As the main vocalist, it's my role to lead the group's vocals.
JAY: I'm a "hot guy." That's what Kyle called me when he saw me. I'm a passionate and serious guy, so I'm a "hot guy."
REON: I'm the trendiest, I'm from the MZ generation (Millennials and Z, born between the 1980s and 2000s). I'm very fashion-conscious, and I'm very into clothes and cameras.
I know a lot about how to use it, so I teach my older brothers. Q. Are you going to attend FC LIVE this time to meet your Japanese fans?
In addition to the release event in Tokyo, there will also be fan conventions in Yokohama, Nagoya, and Osaka.
Is there anything you've prepared just for the fancon that you can't see at the release event? INJUN: We've prepared a 5-member version of a song that we performed before.
Q. Are there any differences between Japan and Korea that you found strange or interesting?
KYLE: Actually, it's only been a day since I came here, so I haven't noticed any big differences yet, but I feel like there are a lot of delicious things in Japanese convenience stores.
It has a different appeal than a convenience store. REON: I like taking photos, so I often come to Japan. Last year, I often came to Osaka. I looked for places with few people to take photos, and
The atmosphere of the town was so beautiful that I took a lot of photos while walking around. It was quiet and relaxing, unlike Korea.
INJUN: The biggest difference is the drinking culture. In Korea, we toast many times, but in Japan, we only toast once. Also, when talking to someone who is older than you,
In Korea, it is polite to drink alcohol while looking to the side, but in Japan, we don't have that. Korea seems to be stricter about etiquette.
KARAM: I'm still not used to the differences, like the direction the cars drive and the automatic doors of taxis.
I didn't know, so I opened the taxi door without permission and got scolded by the driver. On the other hand, Japanese people come to Korea and don't know that the doors are manual, so even when a taxi comes,
JAY: I already knew this, but what I felt again this time was that Japanese rooms are really cute.
I'm currently working on it, but it's a really cute feeling, almost like Lego (laughs). It feels like entering a doll's house, and I really like it.
Q. How do you spend your days off in Japan? Please tell us if you are an outdoor or indoor person, and what you do in Japan.
Please let me know if there is anything you want to do or where you want to go! INJUN: (firmly) I want to go bowling! - Who is the best?
KARAM: JAY is the best when it comes to preparing punishment games for losers. But REON is the one who does it professionally. He has his own equipment.
My ball, my shoes, even my towel to wipe the ball. -Have you ever played professionally? REON: No. I just like playing (laughs). We always play bowling together.
I have friends who play with me, and my older brothers also like it, so I go there often. Everyone is at about the same level, so it's fun. Not everyone has a competitive spirit, so
I'm excited to somehow beat my two younger brothers (laughs). I haven't taken any other days off yet, but I'm looking forward to going shopping with them.
KYLE: (Definitely) Eating delicious food! I'm most looking forward to eating delicious food. I don't go to a delicious restaurant and choose one menu item.
If I hear that this is a famous and delicious restaurant, I will say, "Please give me everything on the menu" and try everything.
JAY: That's why KYLE is the one who spends the most on food. KARAM: My hobby may be strange, but I go to haunted places.
I'd like to go there and do some filming. I haven't discussed it with the members yet though. There are a lot of famous spots in Japan, aren't there? Places where supernatural phenomena occur.
INJUN & REON: No. KYLE: I want to go eat miso katsu. KARAM: If you come with me (to a haunted spot), I'll treat you.
KYLE: Okay! I'll definitely go. INJUN: As for places I want to go... there aren't many places I haven't been to... but I want to go to Sapporo for the first time in a while and eat Genghis Khan.
JAY: I like Nagoya food the most. Miso katsu, Tenmusu, etc. I really like sauces. I'd like to go to Universal Studios in Osaka.
REON: Let's go together! I also want to go to Disney Sea together. Q. Please tell us the direction you want "ASC2NT" to go in from now on.
KARAM: The group name "ASC2NT" means a group living a second life, a second act, so we are trying again. Now that we have another chance,
I want to treasure this opportunity and make my dream come true this time. The name of our fans is Eppy, right? I want to make lots of memories and stories together, just like our name.
I hope that we can maintain a close relationship between fans and singers and have many more moments where we can make memories together.
REON: The group "ASC2NT" is not just about me.
We need to work well together, and we need to work well with the agency. We want to work well together with our fans and staff and show our own unique charm.
We have our own colors, but we want to create something that is unique to us without missing out on the trendiness. We don't want to follow trends, but rather be trendsetters.
I want to be a group that leads trends and has never been seen before. As the members themselves said, they want to be a group that feels like they've been together for a long time and that has a close relationship like brothers.
ASC2NT spoke from beginning to end in a friendly atmosphere. Even during the video shoot, the members all checked the footage together and re-shot it, showing their positive attitude and determination to move forward steadily.
Following this month's Tokyo event, ASC2NT will be holding fan concerts and release events in Aichi and Osaka next month, so we can't wait to see what they do.
