Kim Jung-sook's wife files lawsuit against People's Power lawmaker Bae Hyun-jin for ”spreading false facts and seriously damaging her reputation” (South Korea)
Kim Jung-sook, wife of former President Moon Jae-in, filed a police complaint against People Power Lawmaker Bae Hyun-jin on the 17th.
Yoon Geon-young, a member of the Democratic Party, said in a message that afternoon, "Mrs. Kim Jung-sook was arrested today at the Yeongdeungpo Police Station in Seoul.
"We filed a complaint against Representative Bae of the People Power Party in the past," he said. Representative Bae has continuously spread false information through the media and has seriously damaged Mrs. Kim's reputation.
"I hope that the investigation agency will conduct a swift and thorough investigation," he said. Recently, Rep. Bae has repeatedly raised suspicions that Kim's visit to India in November 2019 was a "self-invitation."
On the same day, the official also posted on his social media account about the prosecution's investigation into the allegations, saying, "We have previously revealed evidence that the Moon administration and others were using the budget without regard for it, as well as testimony from the relevant department.
The People's Power Special Committee will actively cooperate with the accusers. The country's money is not money that goes into the pockets of those in power."
