テレグラムによる「スリオン・KF21軍事機密販売疑惑」、韓国軍・警察・国情院が合同で捜査中
South Korean military, police and NIS are jointly investigating Telegram's alleged sale of military secrets, Surion KF21
It is suspected that military secrets related to the South Korean-made maneuverable HYERI helicopter "Surion" and the next-generation supersonic fighter jet KF-21 are being sold via the messaging app "Telegram."
It has been revealed that the military, the National Intelligence Service, and the police are conducting a joint investigation. On the 23rd, the Korean Armed Forces Counterintelligence Command said that since August last year, a certain Telegram channel had been used to distribute military secrets.
These messages suggest the provision of technical documents for the Surion and KF21, as well as information related to the US-ROK joint exercise "Freedom Shield."
The Counterintelligence Command is working with the National Intelligence Service and police to investigate who opened the Telegram account and whether it actually holds military secrets.
If it is determined that the documents were actually traded or that they were simply a case of fraud, the government plans to ask the police to carry out a formal investigation.
"We are investigating the matter while considering various possibilities," he said. Under the Defense Industry Technology Protection Act, the act of acquiring defense industry technology through illegal means and using or disclosing it is punishable by 10,000 yen.
The offender is punishable by imprisonment of up to one year or a fine of up to 1 billion won (approximately 115 million yen).
