People's Power lawmaker Na Kyung-wan declares candidacy for party leader... ”We cannot entrust the party to politics that do not take responsibility” = South Korea
On the 23rd, Na Kyung-won, a lawmaker from the People Power Party (ruling party), officially declared her candidacy for the next leadership position, saying, "I will make the dream of a conservative government a reality."
Rep. Na held a press conference at the National Assembly Communication Center in Yeouido on the same day, saying that if he becomes the leader, he will "create a capable citizenry."
"We are in a very urgent situation. The party members and the people have miraculously won this government. The people's power will be completely transformed into a living party, a brave and responsible party," said Rep. Ra.
"It was a change of leadership, but the ideals we dreamed of seem to be far away," he said, assessing the political situation after the general election. Rep. Na said, "We must succeed in restoring the conservative government to power. Then, the people must be able to
"The power of the people cannot be entrusted to politics that does not take responsibility, to politics that is ruthless," he said. "The power of the people needs people who can make the right changes, people who can really win. I am the person who can make changes, the person who can win.
He introduced himself as "someone who knows how to win" and "the right person for integrated leadership." Rep. Na said, "I will bring together the wisdom, strategy and experience of a politician who has been elected five times in the metropolitan area."
"We will continue to pour all our efforts into restoring the conservative government to power. We cannot repeat the arrogance that brought about our own defeat in the general election (in April). We can no longer afford trial and error," he added.
He also emphasized, "I have no faction and no grudges. Factional politics and lining up to form a line have no place in my dictionary."
This remark is interpreted as a warning against former Emergency Response Committee Chairman Han Dong-hoon and former Minister of Land, Infrastructure and Transport Won Hee-ryong. Rep. Na said, "I will not be mad or try to please anyone.
"I can truly make the Yoon Seok-yeol government a success," he said. "We will overcome difficulties with all our might and without preconditions. If there are any shortcomings or mistakes, we will make them right."
I will boldly correct this. I will support and pull the party and government together," he said. Rep. Ra said, "The party chairman must silently ensure that the presidential candidate wins the election. I am the one who is free from factions and selfish motives.
This shows that unlike his rivals such as former chairman Han, who are being touted as potential candidates for party leadership, he will be able to stably maintain leadership within the party.
He added, "I have always been unwavering in my conservative stance. I joined the party 22 years ago and have never left it.
He made sacrifices and devoted himself to the party every time he was in a difficult position, recalling his time as floor leader in the opposition party, appealing to the party's spirit.
We cannot hand over power to the Democratic Party of Korea, which is a party of the same name. This country must not fall apart like this. I will dedicate myself to the success of the Yoon Seok-yeol government and to the re-establishment of a people-power government.
I want you to do so," he said.
