A production presentation for the flix series "Whirlwind" was held, with Sol Kyung Gu, Kim Heui Ae, director Kim Yong Wan, and writer Park Kyung Soo in attendance.
"Whirlwind" is about a prime minister who decides to assassinate the president in order to turn the world upside down, and the man who tries to stop him and seize power.
Sol Kyung Gu plays Park Dong-ho, the prime minister who tries to get his hands dirty to wipe out the corrupt forces, while Kim Heui Ae plays Park Dong-ho.
She plays the ambitious Jung Suzyn, who tries to monopolise power in the next generation by fighting against the reckless behavior of her boss. The two have worked together in three consecutive films, following the recent films "The Moon" and "Ordinary Family."
Kim Heui Ae responded, "In 'The Moon,' I couldn't even meet her and we just had to act while looking at the wall, and in 'Ordinary Family,' I was an auntie so we only had a few fights.
However, I'm glad that we were able to work together as sworn enemies this time." Sol Kyung Gu also said, "I've been an actor for 30 years, and I'm glad that we've been able to work together three times in a row, even though we haven't been able to meet in a long time.
"I think so. He's a senior with 40 years of experience, so I was always grateful to him when I filmed," he said. Director Kim Young-wan said, "I was amazed every time I saw the two of them acting on the monitor. The script was also moving.
"I read it while thinking about it, and it was strange and scary to see it expressed in such a way. It was interesting to wonder how the viewers would feel my horror."
This is the first new work in seven years from writer Park Kyung-soo, who presented the power trilogy with the TV series "Chaser," "Golden Empire," and "Punch: Six Months Left to Live Miracle."
"Whirlwind," a collection of Hot Topics brought to you by director Kim Young-wan, who has worked on a variety of genres including "The Dead Man," will premiere on the 28th.
