Russian Deputy Foreign Minister: ”South Korean government should reconsider its 'confrontational policy'”

On the 26th (local time), Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Andrey Rudenko met with South Korean Ambassador to Russia Lee Do-hoon and said, "The South Korean government must reconsider its confrontational policies."
The Russian Foreign Ministry published on its website the contents of the discussion between Deputy Foreign Minister Rudenko and Ambassador Lee that took place at the Russian Foreign Ministry building that day.
The Russian Foreign Ministry said through Ambassador Lee that it had "urged the South Korean authorities to take measures to provoke the escalation of tensions on the Korean Peninsula."
"We call on the United States to reconsider its confrontational policies and adopt a path that seeks effective ways to achieve peace, stability and reconciliation in Northeast Asia."
"The destruction of decades of constructive cooperation is the fault of South Korea's current leadership," he continued.
" He also asserted that "regarding the state visit of Russian President Vladimir Putin to North Korea on the 18th and 19th and the conclusion of the Treaty on Comprehensive Strategic Partnership between Russia and North Korea,
"We cannot tolerate the 'anti-Russian remarks' made by South Korean government officials regarding the development of cooperation between the two countries," he said. He added, "Russia and North Korea are threatening the peace and security of the Korean Peninsula.
This baseless accusation is a manifestation of the aggressive US plan to build a US-led military bloc in Northeast Asia to contain Russia and China and maintain its waning hegemony in the Asia-Pacific region.
