Together with the Japan Business Federation (Keidanren) and the American Chamber of Commerce, we held the First Japan-U.S.-Korea Business Dialogue, the first private-sector consultative body between the business communities of Japan, the U.S. and Korea.
Representative economic organizations of the three countries have launched a "private business consultative body" to maximize the results of economic cooperation that has been expanding since the Japan-US-ROK summit.
They agreed to make these meetings a regular event in the future. This meeting was held in conjunction with the first Japan-US-Korea Industrial Ministers' Meeting (held on the same day).
At the meeting, a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for cooperation between the representative economic organizations of the three countries was signed.
The memorandum of understanding was signed, which stated that "We will carry on the agreement reached at the Camp David summit, promote trilateral cooperation in the fields of economic security and technology, and strive to expand regular economic cooperation."
For this reason, it was decided to hold the Japan-U.S.-ROK Business Dialogue at least once a year as a regular event, and in particular to coordinate the Japan-U.S.-ROK Business Dialogue when meetings between the leaders or governments of the three countries are held.
For this day's meeting, eight companies from South Korea, including Samsung Electronics, SK, Hyundai Motors, Posco, Hanwha, Hyosung, and LS, and eight companies from Japan, including Toyota, Sony, Hitachi, and Sumitomo, were present.
Ten companies from the United States attended, including Intel, Micron Technology, Qualcomm, and Amazon.
