Train and SUV collide at railroad crossing, driver in his 40s dies - South Korea

A Korea Railroad Corporation (KORAIL) train, Mugunghwa-ho, collided with an SUV at a railroad crossing in Sangju, Gyeongsangbuk-do, South Korea, killing the driver of the car (40 years old).
According to police on the 28th, at around 7:19 a.m. on the same day, a Mugunghwa train heading from Yeongju Station to Gimcheon Station collided with an SUV at a railroad crossing in Sangju City.
The driver of the SUV was taken to the hospital but died after the accident, while no passengers on the Mugunghwa train were injured.
Korail said, "The crossing warning system was working properly." Police are currently investigating the exact circumstances of the accident.
