"I have heard that the gifts received by the president or the spouse of the president are not subject to the Public Officials Ethics Act, but are subject to the Presidential Records Management Act," Jeong said.
Regarding the request to inspect the presidential office, Jeong said, "The entire presidential office facility is a security zone. It can only be done through individual consent."
"I understand that this will not be done by a private individual, but will have to go through legal procedures," Jeong said.
"This is a low-level, despicable case of illegal recording and filming," he said. "Such cases of manipulation will be thoroughly investigated and we will find out who is behind them."
In response to a question from Kang Min-guk, a ruling party lawmaker, "Do you agree that a thorough investigation should be conducted to determine whether the matter is true?", he answered, "I agree."
