South Korea's Supreme Prosecutors' Office refutes opposition party's claims that the reasons for impeachment against four prosecutors are clearly false

The Supreme Prosecutors' Office has said that the grounds for impeachment filed by the Democratic Party of Korea, South Korea's largest opposition party, against four prosecutors who investigated former Chairman Lee Jae-myung, are "clearly false."
On the 3rd, the Supreme Prosecutors' Office posted a five-page document titled "Documents Explaining the Absence of Grounds for Impeachment" on the prosecutors' internal network "iPROS" and distributed it to the press.
This is seen as a follow-up measure by the Supreme Prosecutors' Office following Prosecutor General Lee Won-seok's refutation of the reasons for impeachment of each prosecutor at a press conference held the previous day.
The document, prepared by the Policy Planning Division of the Supreme Prosecutors' Office, includes Kang Baek-shin, deputy chief prosecutor of the Suwon District Prosecutors' Office, Kim Yong-il,

The Democratic Party of Korea has raised concerns about Prosecutor Kang's alleged illegal house searches related to "allegations of interference in the presidential election and manipulation of public opinion."
The legality of the investigation was confirmed through a warrant review by the National Police Agency and a committee of outside experts.
"I have repeatedly stated that Jang, who is the person involved in the case, lied to make himself look good," he said.
Regarding the reason for the impeachment for the lenient investigation into the bribery allegations in the case, he said, "We conducted a thorough investigation based on the statements of those involved and objective evidence. Even the whistleblowers did not object to the final disposition."
Regarding Prosecutor Park, who was accused of bribing former Vice Governor of Peace Lee Hwa-young of Gyeonggi Province, he said, "The allegations of bribing and inducing false statements at drinking parties have been proven to be groundless."
"The allegations that Lee Jae-myung made public the facts of her alleged crimes and that she damaged public property while working at the Ulsan District Prosecutors' Office are unfounded," he said.
Regarding the claim by the Democratic Party of Korea that the relevant prisoners were bribed to give false testimony, the party said, "Prime Minister Han was sentenced to two years in prison by the Supreme Court, and those who provided the bribes received the same sentence for perjury.
He also said, "During the previous administration, former Minister of Justice Park Beom-gye exercised his power of investigation command and reexamined the allegations of perjury by a prisoner, but the case was closed without any charges."

The Supreme Prosecutors' Office also called the allegations against Prosecutors Kang, Kim, and Park "groundless," "clearly false," and "groundless."
They strongly refuted the allegations, calling them "baseless false facts."
