Live ammunition found in flight attendant's bag on flight from Incheon to Bangkok... Police investigating
Police have launched an investigation after live ammunition was found in the bag of a Korean Air flight attendant as he was departing from Incheon International Airport for Bangkok, Thailand.
According to the Incheon Airport Police on the 4th, at around 7:30 a.m. on the 2nd at Incheon Airport's Terminal 2, a passenger was attempting to board a Korean Air flight from Incheon to Bangkok.
During the inspection of the carry-on baggage of Ms. A, a female flight attendant who was in the airport, one live 7.62mm caliber bullet was found. Ms. A said, "I brought a pouch I used as a child with me from among the luggage I had brought with me when I moved from my parents' house.
He was reported to have said, "I came here with the bullets, but I forgot that I had put them in my bag to look at later." After the police retrieved the bullets, they ordered A to depart in order to prevent flight delays.
As soon as he returns to the country, they plan to investigate how he ended up possessing live ammunition. Korean Air has concluded through its own investigation that there was no intent behind it, and will actively cooperate with the police investigation that will be conducted in the future.
Korean Air said, "We provide regular aviation security training to our flight attendants," and "We will further strengthen aviation security training for all employees."
