China's car sales in January-June reached 14,047,000 units, up 6.1% from the same period last year - Chinese media

The China Association of Automobile Manufacturers said on the 10th that China's automobile industry continues to perform well and major economic indicators are showing an upward trend.
According to publicly available data, the number of automobiles produced in the first six months of this year increased 4.9% year-on-year to 13.89 million units.
The production volume of new energy vehicles increased by 30.1% to 4.929 million units, and the sales volume increased by 32% to 14.047 million units.
Sales totaled 4.944 million units, recording a market share of 35.2%, while the market share of Chinese-brand passenger cars increased 8.8 percentage points to 61.9%.
The association said, "In the second half of the year, the implementation of policies such as upgrading to new products and introducing new energy vehicles to rural areas will be favorable factors.
"When it is released in 2019, it will further tap the consumption potential of the automobile market and lead to stable growth for the industry."
