Police launch investigation into death threats against YouTuber's family in South Korea

South Korean YouTuber "Calm Man" and webtoon author Lee Mal-nyeong (real name Lee Byeong-gon) said about the death threats his family received, "We will take a hard line without any leniency or reconciliation.
On the 11th, Lee Hye-yoon and Jeong So-yeon, lawyers at law firm Young, who are representing Junjik Man, posted on Junjik Man's official homepage,
"We would like to state our position regarding the criminal acts against the children of Jun-Jun Man," they wrote in the article. "On July 9th, a rape and death threat was made against the children of Jun-Jun Man in a certain community.
"A note was posted specifying the planned date of the crime," he said, adding, "The National Police Agency was notified about the post, which specified the planned date of the crime, and investigative authorities were dispatched to the home and have now begun an investigation into the poster."
He continued, "Through his legal representative, Sejyunman has requested the investigative authorities to conduct a swift and strong investigation and ensure the poster's safety. As soon as the identity of the poster is identified, he plans to take strict legal action."
The Junkman side stated that for the past few years, serious, malicious comments and posts that are socially unacceptable have been continuously posted and circulated about the family on communities and other platforms.
Recently, criminal acts that cannot be ignored, such as teasing the safety of minor children, have been occurring.
