Kim HyangGi takes on the role of mother in the movie ”Hanran”

WhenEver Studio, the film company behind the films "Shining Moment" and "Her Hobbies," has cast Kim HyangGi as the lead actor in their new film "Hanran" (director: Ha MyungMi).
The film "Hanran" is a historical drama set in Jeju, depicting the life of a mother struggling alone.
Hyanggi plays Ah-jin, a mother in her 20s, and shows the strength of Jeju women at the time. Kim HyangGi said, "I have learned a lot not only as an actor, but also as a person.
"I thought it was a work that I could learn from. It's a work that requires a sense of responsibility, so I will do my best sincerely. I hope I can successfully convey the power of the story that I felt from the script of 'Kanran.'"
Kim Hyang Gi became a popular actor with the movie "Along with the Gods" series, and has shown his solid acting skills by appearing in socially sensitive movies such as "Innocent Witness" and "Children".
She has won the Best Actress award at the 39th Korean Association of Film Critics Awards in 2009, the Best Actress award at the 39th Golden Cinematography Awards in 2019, and the Best Supporting Actress award at the 39th Blue Dragon Film Awards in 2018, and has been praised for her acting skills over her 17-year acting career.
Director Ha Myung-mi, who wrote and directed the movie "Hanran," said, "I am so grateful that Kim Hyang-gi joined my hand to work with me on this difficult role."

Director Ha Myung-mi won the Distribution Support Award and Best Actor Award (Jeong E Suh) at the Bucheon International Fantastic Film Festival for her debut feature film "Her Hobbies."
It won two awards. It was nominated for the New Director Award at the Sao Paulo International Film Festival, invited to the London East Asia Film Festival and Jakarta Film Week, and was a big hot topic at overseas film festivals.
Director Ha Myung-mi has created a genre film world with a strong story and unique directing style that is both TV Series-like and tense.
The role of the 6-year-old daughter, Ha-saeng, will be played by child actress Kim Min-chae (age 6), who was selected after fierce auditions. She will show off a strong-willed character, just like her mother.
"Kanran" is scheduled to begin filming this fall and be released next year in 2025.
