South Korea to implement ”US-ROK Korean Peninsula Nuclear Deterrence Operational Guidelines” in different areas...NATO follow-up measures

The South Korean government has indicated that it will promote information sharing and consultations on nuclear operations on the Korean Peninsula in different areas. This was in line with President Yoon Seok-yeol's announcement at the NATO summit.
The move is aimed at ensuring the practical implementation of the "U.S.-ROK Korean Peninsula Nuclear Deterrence Guidelines," which were signed on the occasion of the two leaders' attendance at the 15th National Security Council Director Jang Ho-jin's statement.
He announced that a meeting of relevant ministries and agencies in the field of security was held under the auspices of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, where follow-up measures related to the visit to the NATO summit were discussed.
The participants agreed to take measures to ensure the effective implementation of the Korean Peninsula Nuclear Deterrence Guidelines.
The two sides decided to promote information sharing, consultation, joint planning and implementation of nuclear operations on the peninsula in various areas.
The participants also plan to conduct necessary training through defense and military tabletop exercises (TTX).
The two sides agreed to take firm action based on the joint statement of the Brain-Based Summit and the joint statement of the Indo-Pacific Partnership (IP4).
We will continue to hold dialogues related to the Treaty on the Promotion of a Partnership for the Promotion of Defense and other agreements, and consider and promote appropriate response measures. We will also prepare to be able to share information on North Korea's weapons at an early stage.
The government also plans to quickly implement the nuclear power generation, energy, and defense industry cooperation measures agreed upon at the NATO summit.
The follow-up measures related to the People's Day event will be organized into three areas and 10 tasks, and a detailed implementation plan will also be discussed.
