The movie "Despicable Me 3" has released a lineup of the best OSTs ever made up of world-class artists.
Among them are "Dynamite" by BTS and "BOOMBAYAH" by BLACKPINK, proving the global popularity of K-POP.
Director Chris Reno, who directed this film, said, "There are many artists with global fandoms, but K-POP has a unique appeal that spreads to the world."
"We thought the music was fun and energetic, which is similar to the goal of the 'Despicable Me' series, which is to give audiences a great time," they explained.
First, BTS' "Dynamite" is about the Gru family, who escape from prison to escape into a safe house, disguise their identities and start a new life.
You can hear it in the scene where Gru's wife Lucy starts working at a hair salon under the new name Branch, and the music played there is by BTS.
Director Reno said, "You can hear the latest music whenever you go to a hair salon or public place. We used BTS' music to create a modern atmosphere and give positive energy.
BLACKPINK's "BOOMBAYAH" can be heard in the Minions' party bus sequence on the way to AVL, the villain special unit.
The rhythmic music of BLACKPINK is added to the scene, which exudes the uncontrollable energy unique to the band, creating a synergy effect. Director Chris Reno said, "I really listened to a lot of different songs.
"We were looking for a song that would be perfect for this scene," he said, adding, "'BOOMBAYAH' is the perfect song to show the energy, the action, and the fun the Minions are having in the movie.
"The Minion Super Transformation" is a Gru Family movie where the abilities of Agent Minion, who became the villain specialist AVL, and Gru Jr. were born.
The Minion Parsable blockbuster, which sees Lee try to stop Maxim, a villain who has escaped from prison out of revenge against Gru, hits theaters in Japan on the 19th.
