Kang Dong Won stars in the Korean horror film ”Possession” - teaser video and poster visual unveiled

The movie "Dr. Jung's Exorcism Laboratory: The Secret of Seol Kyung," which ranked first in audience numbers for six consecutive days from the day it was released and became a hot topic among people, has been renamed "Possession" in Japan.
The film will be released nationwide on Friday, September 6, 2024, including at Shinjuku Piccadilly. The lead role is played by the recently inducted member of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences (AMPAS), which recently organized the Academy Awards.
It was reported that actor Kang Dong Won was chosen for the role. The film is a brilliant adaptation of the horror story based on the popular webtoon of the same name, starring Kang Dong Won, director of "The Decision to Break Up" and "Parasite."
Director Kim Sung-sik gained experience as an assistant director on films such as "Semi-Underground Family." Director Park Chan-wook, who has produced many masterpieces, also said, "I want to make something a little different.
"I was in awe of this unprecedented fear," he said. Since ancient times, evil spirits have hunted for spiritual powers by moving from one human body to another, and they attack humans by possessing vessels one after another. It is unpredictable, and no one knows when, where, or who they will possess.
This is the first new sensation possession horror entertainment in Korea. The subject that has been released this time is Dr. Jeong (Kang Dong-woo), a shaman who cannot see spirits but can use the only magical tool that can exorcise evil spirits.
The video begins with a scene in which Dr. Chung prays to exorcise the girl. When the "bell that should not ring" (a cursed item that reacts to spirits) held by Dr. Chung rings, the presence of something evil becomes clear.
The true identity of the spirit that possessed the girl was a giant demon that had been moving from one human body to another since ancient times, hunting for spiritual power. The demon possessed various people, and Dr. Jung was slow to notice.
In the video, there is also an action scene in which Dr. Jung fights evil spirits using cursed items! Will he be able to team up with Yu-gyeong (E Som), a woman with the ability to see spirits and divine bodies, and exorcise the approaching darkness?

A tie-up has been decided between this film and the popular event "Celebration of Cursed Objects Exhibition," which displays a "Cursed Object Collection"!
The props used by Dr. Jung, including the "bell that rings in response to spirits," the "talisman that seals evil spirits," the "Seven Star Sword that can penetrate spirits," and the "talisman that seals evil spirits (Seolgyeong)," are all in the hands of the Korean people.
It will be on display at the "Celebration Curse Exhibition" at the TOWER GALLERY on the 3rd floor of Tokyo Tower from Wednesday, July 17th.
The craftsmanship of the cursed items was handled by PENG SOO, who is known for his time-and-space mystery drama "The Call" (Netflix).
Art director Bae Jun-yoon, who has built a high-quality production design for the 2017 film "The Guardian: The Force Awakens," has been focusing on the expression of amulets, hand-painting them with traditional Korean patterns by experts.
The setsutra made by the artist was used. The Seven Star Sword and Bell follow traditional designs, but are sublimated into original visuals through detailed craftsmanship in accordance with the story of the movie. Event Details
