Heavy rains again in Seoul... Up to 200mm of rain in central region by 19th = South Korea

Heavy rain is expected to hit Seoul and other metropolitan areas and the inland and mountainous areas of Gangwon-do tonight. According to the Korea Meteorological Administration on the 17th, the metropolitan area and Gangwon-do will experience heavy rains from the 17th to the 18th.
Heavy rainfall exceeding 70 mm per hour is expected in the Chungcheong region from midnight on the 18th through to early morning. The rain is expected to continue until the 19th. The capital and Chungcheong regions are expected to experience up to 200,000 tons of rain.
More than 100 mm of rain is expected to fall. Currently, heavy rain warnings have been issued for Incheon, Gyeonggi-do, and Gangwon-do. Heavy rain advisories have been issued for the Seoul metropolitan area and the Chungbuk area.
Rain is expected to continue in most areas of the country through the 18th. In the capital region, heavy rainfall of 30-60 mm per hour was recorded by the morning of the 18th, with peaks of over 70 mm per hour.
Gangwon Province and Chungcheong region are also expected to experience heavy rains on a similar level to the Seoul metropolitan area from the night of the 17th to the morning of the 18th, and from dawn to the afternoon of the 18th, respectively.
In North Jeolla Province, which suffered heavy damage in the early part of the rainy season, rains fell about 30 mm per hour from dawn on the 18th until the morning.
During the same period, Gwangju and northern Jeollanam-do will receive 20 to 30 mm of rain per hour. Inland areas of North Gyeongsang-do will receive heavy rain from the morning to the afternoon of the 18th.
Rainfall of 20 to 30 mm per hour is expected. Heavy rain is also expected in various areas between the 18th and 19th. Seoul and southern Gyeonggi Province are expected to experience heavy rainfall of 20 to 30 mm per hour from the evening of the 18th to the early morning of the 19th.
During the same period, heavy rainfall of 30 to 60 mm is expected in northern Gyeonggi Province and 30 mm per hour in northern Gyeonggi Province. In Gangwon Province and the Chungcheong region, 30 to 60 mm per hour is expected from the night of the 18th until dawn on the 19th.
Rainfall is expected. In the Gwangju, South Jeolla and North Jeolla areas and the Daegu and North Gyeongsang areas, 30 to 50 mm and 30 mm per hour are expected, respectively, from midnight to the morning of the 19th.
On the 19th, rain will be concentrated in Chungcheong and southern areas, while the capital region and the inland and mountainous areas of Gangwon will see intermittent rain with a lull. The expected precipitation from now until the 19th is 80-200mm in Chungcheong and 100mm in the capital region.

The South Korean region is expected to receive 20 to 60 mm, while Jeju is expected to receive 5 to 40 mm. Meanwhile, the Korea Meteorological Administration predicted in May that the amount of rainfall this summer (June to August) will be higher than normal.
Thorough preparations are necessary to prevent serious damage. Thick fog is expected to continue over most of the ocean for the time being.
