According to the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy of South Korea on the 17th, Roh Geon-ki, Director of the Trade Negotiation Office, attended the G7 Trade Ministers' Meeting held in Italy the previous day (local time).
The South Korean government attended the outreach meeting of the G7 and invited countries (South Korea, Brazil, and the United Nations) to discuss the "Measures to Strengthen Supply Chain Resilience."
Attending the meeting were representatives of the G7 economic organizations, including the United States, Canada, Germany, New Zealand, Turkey, Vietnam and India, as well as international organizations and the B7 (a consultative body of G7 economic organizations).
"Unlike in the past, the global supply chain is undergoing transformation these days," he said, emphasizing that "to build a resilient and stable supply chain, we must work with reliable partners."
"For this reason, Korea is promoting multilateral cooperation, such as the IPEF (Indo-Pacific Economic Framework) and MSP (Minerals Security Partnership), as well as cooperation with countries in Africa and Latin America," Roh said.
"We are also promoting bilateral cooperation," he said. Director Noh also mentioned the "Industrial Supply Chain 3050 Strategy," which aims to reduce dependency on specific countries for 185 stable supply chain items to 50 percent or less by 2030.
He also introduced domestic policies.
