Italian-based luxury sports car manufacturer Ferrari will now allow cryptocurrency payments in Europe, following in the footsteps of the US.
According to Reuters on the 23rd (local time), Ferrari announced in a statement on the same day
The company said it will expand the system allowing cryptocurrency payments to its European dealer network from the end of this month. The move comes after the United States introduced its first cryptocurrency payment system last year.
Ferrari plans to expand the scheme to its international dealer network in countries where cryptocurrencies are legal.
Ferrari began accepting cryptocurrency payments in the United States last year to cater to the demand of its wealthy customers.
To allow cryptocurrency payments in the US, Ferrari has teamed up with BitPay, one of the largest cryptocurrency payment processors, to accept Bitcoin, Ethereum and USDC.
The company said, "Our expansion into the European market is due to the success of our system, as it has only been a year since we introduced cryptocurrency payments in the US market."
