IOC Chairman Bach refers to South Korea as North Korea and says he will ”apologise directly to President Yoon”
At the opening ceremony of the 2024 Paris Olympics, in-house announcer Naeun mistakenly referred to South Korea as North Korea, and International Olympic Committee Chairman Thomas Bach personally contacted President Yoon Seok-youl to report the incident.

An official letter of protest was sent to the Paris Organizing Committee Chairman and the IOC under the name of Korean delegation chief Son.
