Ambassador Park, a leading scholar of Japan and President Yoon’s strategist, graduated from Seoul University’s Department of Political Science and is a graduate of Columbia University in the United States.
After earning his doctorate in "Contemporary Japanese Politics" at university, he served as professor and director of the Institute of Japanese Studies at Seoul National University's Graduate School of International Studies.
After the inauguration of the Yun administration, he served as the first president of the National Diplomatic Academy, and with this personnel change,
Ambassador Park was appointed as the second ambassador to Japan. Next year will mark the 60th anniversary of the normalization of the border between Japan and South Korea, and Ambassador Park will assume his duties as ambassador to Japan at a time when the role of building a bridge between the two countries is extremely important.
