From January to June this year, the total social logistics volume in China was 167.4 trillion yen (approximately 3,500 trillion yen), up 5.8% from the same period last year. Of this, the first quarter (January to March) saw an increase of 5.9%, and the second quarter saw an increase of 1.2%.
The quarter (April-June) saw an increase of 5.7%. This has been an upward trend since the fourth quarter (October-December) of last year. In terms of logistics structure, the total logistics value of industrial products in the first half of the year increased by 5.8% year-on-year.
Of this, the value of logistics for high-tech manufacturing increased 8.7% year-on-year and 1.2% from the first quarter. In terms of imported goods, the total value of logistics for imports in the first half of the year increased 4.8% year-on-year, with intermediate goods such as integrated circuits increasing 1.2%.
In terms of consumption, the total amount of goods transported by businesses and residents increased by 8.7% year on year. Of this, the online retail value of physical goods increased by 1.2% year on year.
This represents an increase of 8.8%, and its share of total retail sales of consumer goods reached 25.3%.
