At a rally held at the Rothschild Hall just before the National Assembly plenary session, Choo Kyung-ho, floor leader of the People's Power Party, said, "The Democratic Party's addiction to impeachment is so bad that even a day of impeachment is enough to stop them from doing so."
"This forbidden phenomenon has reached such an extreme that it is impossible to break away from it. False accusations and impeachments are being made repeatedly regardless of whether or not there has been any violation of the law. This is violence and terrorism against the government," he said.
"Since the Yoon Seok-yeol administration took office, there have been a total of 18 impeachment motions," Bae Jun-young, the floor's senior vice leader, said in a statement.
"In the past year, there have been only six impeachment cases. The Democratic Party of Korea is exercising impeachment as if it were a private right," he said sarcastically. In the previous administration, there were three impeachment cases against Hong Nam-ki, former Minister of Strategy and Finance, and one against Joo.
A total of six impeachment motions were submitted, including two against former Minister of Justice Choo Mi-ae and one against former Chief Judge Lim Seong-keun. In a commentary, Chief Spokesperson Choi Su-jin said, "Impeachment is not something that should be so simple and light.
This is the fourth impeachment case against someone related to the Korea Communications Commission in just one year. The impeachment of the newly appointed Korea Communications Commission chairman, who has just begun his term, is an example of tyranny, wielding legislative power.
" He added, "The massive opposition party's reckless impeachment and violent acts in the National Assembly are destroying the rule of law."
At a committee meeting, he said, "Is it possible for someone to do such bad things that they can be impeached in just one day? The form of impeachment being carried out by the Democratic Party of Korea is impeachment by false accusation."
Han said, "The Democratic Party of Korea has made a mockery of the important constitutional system of impeachment into a political tactic.
"I think the public will be the judge of this move. We will take a proactive stance," Rep. Choi Hyung-doo, who is the ruling party's secretary for the National Assembly's Science, Information, Broadcasting and Communications Committee, said in an interview with CBS.
In response to the opposition's argument that it was illegal for Chairman Lee to have used the "two-person system" of the Korea Communications Commission to vote on the public broadcasting board, he said, "The cause of the two-person system is the Democratic Party of Korea.
"Because the impeachment was carried out with the audacity of a thief, the impeachment motion will likely be dismissed by the Constitutional Court," he said.
