South Korea's Ministry of Unification: ”No response” regarding flood aid for North Korea... ”We hope for a prompt response”

South Korea's Ministry of Unification said, "As of the 2nd, there has been no response from North Korea to the government's proposal to provide humanitarian assistance to victims in North Korea who have been affected by the torrential rains."
A spokesman for the Ministry of Unification said at a regular press conference on the morning of the 2nd, "We have attempted to make a call through the contact channel of the Inter-Korean Liaison Office, but so far there has been no response from the North Korean side."
On the 1st, the South Korean government said through the Korean Red Cross, "We are concerned about the humanitarian situation facing North Korean residents.
"We are prepared to swiftly provide urgently needed supplies to the victims of the disaster in North Korea from the standpoint of humanitarianism and brotherhood in the face of these difficult times," he said, adding, "We will hold a meeting with the North Korean Red Cross to discuss the items, scale and method of support."
We are ready to discuss this with the Central Committee and look forward to a prompt response."
