Seoul mayor stresses the need to restore ”China-Japan-Korea capital diplomacy” = South Korea

Seoul Mayor Oh Sehun said, "We need to restore the trilateral city diplomacy between Seoul, Beijing, and Tokyo." Mayor Oh said at a press conference in Beijing, China on the 31st of last month (local time).
"The deadlocked diplomatic and political relations between Korea, China and Japan are quite different from what the citizens think," he said at the meeting.
Mayor Oh also emphasized the restoration of cooperation between Seoul, Beijing and Tokyo. He said, "Young people in China and Japan have feelings for the Korean Wave that go beyond just liking it, and they feel affection for it. There is an atmosphere of reconciliation and cooperation between the people of the three countries."
"However, this trend is being blocked by the governments of each country," he continued, "However, in the case of local governments,
"We can first break down the walls," he said, explaining the background to his visit to Beijing following a visit to Tokyo last year.
Mayor Oh also said, "There are times when countries are very close to each other, and times when they are not.
"Local governments must take the lead and play a role in maintaining constant contact so that the project can take firm root," he said.
