"In the first and second quarters of this year (January to June), we processed 3.43 million marriage registrations and 1.274 million divorce registrations," the company said.
The number of marriage registrations filed this year is down 498,000 (12.7%) from the same period last year (3,928,000).
This was the lowest figure since 2013. Also, compared to the first half of 2014 (6.94 million), this represents a decrease of more than half in 10 years.
The number of annual marriage registrations in China has peaked in 2013 (13,469,000), and has since declined to 1,000.
The trend of decline continues.
