The leading role in the musical Aladdin was completed through auditions. The original creators, including director and choreographer Casey Nicolo, who found the perfect cast in productions all over the world, came to South Korea and held 10 auditions with the Korean creators.
The role of Aladdin will be played by Kim Jun-su, Seo Kyung-su and Park Kang-hyun, leading stars of Korean musicals.
The role of Genie is played by Jung Sung-hwa, Jung Won-yong and Kang Hong-seok.
Lee Sung Kyung, Min Kyung Ah and Choi Ji Hye have been cast as Jasmine.
Lee Sang-joon and Hwang Man-ik will play Sultan, Yoon Sung-yong and Im Byul will play Jafar, Yeon-yeol will play Iago, Seo Man-seok will play Kasim, Yuk Hyun-wook will play Omar, and Pang Bo-young and Yang Byung-cheol will be with him as Babcak.
Casey Nicolo says: "This audition was my first visit to beautiful South Korea and I was never ceased to be amazed to meet such a deep and rich pool of talent. I have no doubt that the outstandingly talented actors we have found will bring fun and vibrancy to the production of 'Aladdin'".
The musical Aladdin has been performed in 11 productions on four continents around the world and has been seen by an audience of approximately 20 million people. The Korean premiere will be performed in Seoul and Busan, opening at the Charlotte Theatre on the 22nd November, with the first tickets going on sale in early September.
