COVID-19 virus infections are spreading again: 128 patients hospitalized in Gyeonggi Province in July (South Korea)

Last month, 128 people were hospitalized in Gyeonggi Province with COVID-19, more than doubling the number from the previous month.
On the 7th, Gyeonggi Province released the current status of hospitalized patients at 45 hospitals with more than 200 beds.
The analysis showed that the number of coronavirus patients rose from 58 in the month of June to 128 last month. In particular, the number nearly quadrupled, from 17 in the first week of July to 66 in the fourth week.
Gyeonggi Province believes this is due to the influence of Omicron KP.3, a coronavirus pathogen that is showing a global increase.

"To prevent COVID-19 infection, people should wear masks in crowded places and take precautions against it," said Yoo Young-cheol, director of the Gyeonggi Provincial Health Bureau.
"To prevent the spread of the coronavirus, we must avoid overwork and lack of sleep, wash our hands thoroughly, and frequently ventilate indoor spaces so that the virus's effectiveness does not decrease," he said.
