A high school student was caught by the police for driving his mother's car without a license. On the 10th, Gimpo Police Station arrested and questioned a teenager, A, on suspicion of driving without a license under the Road Traffic Act.
At around 7 a.m. the previous day, Mr. A was driving his mother's Volkswagen from Jemulpo Station in Incheon to the Incheon Gimpo Expressway.
He is suspected of driving the car without a license for about 40km via the road to Gimpo. At the time, two teenagers, presumably friends of A, were also in the car.
A taxi driver who witnessed this reported the incident to the police, reporting that there was a vehicle speeding that was suspected to be drunk driving.
Police were dispatched after receiving the report and tracked the car down, arresting Mr. A on a road in Tongjin-eup, Gimpo.
A police official said, "Mr. A did not engage in drunk driving and is not a delinquent." He added, "We plan to call Mr. A back in the near future to investigate the specific circumstances."
He stated.
