South Korea expresses grave concern and condolences over Israeli airstrike on school

The Government of the Republic of Korea expressed deep concern over the incident in which many civilians were killed in an Israeli airstrike on a school in the Gaza Strip in Palestine, and offered its condolences to the victims and their families.
"The government expresses deep concern over the deaths of many innocent civilians in Israeli attacks and sends its heartfelt condolences to the victims and their families," a South Korean Foreign Ministry spokesman said at a press conference on the 12th.
"The government stresses the obligation of the warring parties to protect civilians," and adds, "We urge all parties to thoroughly comply with international law, including international humanitarian law."
"The Government believes that only an immediate ceasefire and the release of the hostages can stop such tragedies. We ask that the relevant parties continue to respond to requests from the mediators to resume negotiations," it said.
"I want you to respond as soon as possible," he said. On the 10th (local time), the Israeli military attacked a school building in Gaza City. The attack resulted in a tragedy in which about 100 people lost their lives.
