Daegu city strengthens management of vulnerable groups in preparation for ”coronavirus resurgence” - South Korea
On the 13th, the city of Daegu in South Korea announced that it would strengthen preemptive measures to protect vulnerable groups due to concerns about a resurgence of COVID-19 infections, including an increase in hospitalized patients.
This year, the number of hospitalized COVID-19 patients across South Korea had been decreasing since the first week of February (875 cases), but started to increase again from the end of June, reaching 861 in the first week of August, the same level as in February.
The number of hospitalized COVID-19 patients in Daegu has also been increasing since the second week of July. In response to this, Daegu has established a specialized team at vulnerable facilities to protect high-risk groups.
In addition, from October, the government will begin offering free vaccinations to people aged 65 and over, people with weakened immune systems, and people admitted to or staying in vulnerable facilities.
I also plan to start seeds.
