On the 13th, it was revealed that the suspect was indicted at home. On the 8th of this month, during a live stream on his YouTube channel, Suspect A is accused of brandishing a sword after drinking alcohol alone at home.
The suspect was arrested after a viewer who happened to see the broadcast reported to the police that the suspect "appeared mentally unstable." Police investigation revealed that the suspect had a knife 87 cm long (59 cm blade length, 28 cm handle length).
Suspect A had two Japanese swords, each 75 cm long (blade length 53 cm, handle 22 cm), in his possession without permission. Suspect A purchased the swords at Dangun Market in 2018 for decorative purposes.
According to the relevant law, if the blade is 15 centimeters or longer, or if it is less than 15 centimeters but has a sharp blade and there is a clear risk that it could be used as a lethal weapon, a license to possess it is required.
