The number of flights and passengers at Shanghai airports continued to increase, due in part to the movement of student tourists. On August 11, the number of flights and passengers per day reached 2,386 and 397,000, respectively.
Shanghai Pudong International Airport (hereinafter referred to as Pudong Airport) had 1,597 flights and 254,000 passengers, while Shanghai Hongqiao International Airport (hereinafter referred to as Hongqiao Airport) had 7 flights and 254,000 passengers.
There were 89 flights and 143,000 passengers. A total of 96,000 flights were operated at Shanghai airports from July 1 to August 11, of which 65,000 were at Pudong Airport and 10,000 at Hongqiao Airport.
31,000 flights were operated in the same period. The average number of takeoffs and landings per day was 2,293, up 10.1% from the same period last year.
During the same period, the total number of passengers using Shanghai airports was 15,343,000.
Of these, Pudong Airport handled 9.743 million and Hongqiao Airport handled 5.6 million. The average number of passengers per day reached 365,000, up 18.2% year-on-year.
