保育園・幼稚園・学校周辺の「禁煙区域」が30メートルに “拡大”=韓国
”No smoking zones” around daycare centers, kindergartens and schools ”expanded” to 30 meters in South Korea
Starting from the 17th of this month, areas within 30 meters of nursery schools, kindergartens, elementary schools, middle schools, and high schools in South Korea will be designated as "smoking zones," and anyone who smokes in these areas will be fined 100,000 won (approximately 10,832 yen).
The Ministry of Health and Welfare announced, "The National Health Promotion Act, which was revised on August 16th of last year, will be fully implemented from the 17th of this month after a one-year grace period."
The revised National Health Promotion Act expands the no-smoking zones around nursery schools and kindergartens from 10 meters to 30 meters, and the Elementary, Junior and Senior High School Education Act stipulates that no-smoking zones around schools be set at 30 meters.
"The expansion of non-smoking zones around educational facilities is a necessary measure to protect the health of children and adolescents who are vulnerable to secondhand smoke," said Bae Kyung-taek, director of the health policy bureau at the Ministry of Health, Labor and Welfare.
"We will do our best to create a smoke-free environment at the association."
