China's youth unemployment rate hits 17.1%, the highest since statistical method change

China's youth unemployment rate in July hit its highest level since the authorities introduced a new statistical method. On the 16th, according to Reuters, China's National Bureau of Statistics announced the "July 16-20 unemployment rate."
The unemployment rate for 4-year-olds was 17.1 percent. This is a 3.9 percent increase from the previous month's 13.2 percent. In addition, the government revised the method of calculating the youth unemployment rate in December last year.
China suddenly stopped publishing statistics and changed its statistical method after the youth unemployment rate rose to 21.3% in June last year, but it said it was "trying to lower negative statistics."
