On the 18th, former President Moon Jae-in released a video of the Democratic Party of Korea's National Party Members Conference held at the KSPO Dome (formerly the Olympic Gymnastics Arena) in Songpa-gu, Seoul.
In his congratulatory speech, he said, "Let's not just continue with the current support, but expand our support to become a party that is supported equally across the nation, regardless of generation. Where we stand in the intra-party competition is not important in the face of our great cause."
"I want each and every member of the party to be the driving force behind expansion. I want you to work with more open minds and broader attitudes to once again establish a Democratic Party government together with more people," he said.
President Moon said, "We have experienced the success of the Kim Dae-jung, Roh Moo-hyun and Moon Jae-in governments by steadily expanding the support of the people.
"The three Democratic Party governments that served as presidents were the most competent governments of all time," he said, "and they rescued the Republic of Korea from a national crisis, set the wheels of history rolling forward, and brought positive development to Korean society."
"We should be proud of the national accomplishments that the Democratic Party has made together with the people. Based on that pride, we must gather our strength to once again establish a Democratic Party government.
"Now is the time to move forward together with the people to once again save the Republic of Korea from the threat of regression. The most important thing is to expand support," he said.
