Police in South Korea have launched an investigation into an incident in which a man vomited after drinking drinking water from a Chinese restaurant and was taken to hospital.
According to the police on the 20th, at around 12:35 pm on the 19th, a construction worker was killed at a construction site in Yangju City, Gyeonggi Province.
Two workers at work called 119 and reported that they had drunk two liters of drinking water delivered by a Chinese restaurant and had felt something strange with their bodies.
When firefighters arrived, workers said, "We drank the water, but it was mixed with paint thinner.
"It feels like I'm in a coma," he said. One of the workers, a man in his 40s, vomited and was taken to the hospital for examination, while a man in his 20s declined to be taken to the hospital. They were reportedly not in any danger of dying.
Police are working with Yangju City Hall to analyze the ingredients in the drinking water, while also investigating how the water was delivered by the Chinese restaurant.
The owner of the Chinese restaurant told police, "I picked up an empty bottle with a strange liquid in it at a recycling center and reused it.
