The US Democratic Party announced a new policy platform on the 19th (local time) in which it deleted any references to North Korea's denuclearization and human rights issues.
"Our government will continue to work closely with the United States and the United States to resolve this issue," Foreign Ministry spokesman Lee Jae Woo said at a regular press conference on the 20th.
"We will continue to consistently pursue efforts to achieve the denuclearization of North Korea through a comprehensive approach of restraint, renunciation, and dialogue diplomacy," he said.
Previous platforms drafted for the 2020 presidential election included calls for the denuclearization of North Korea,
The platform included diplomatic dialogue and human rights issues, but these are no longer mentioned in the latest platform. This is consistent with the fact that the Republican platform released last month did not include the denuclearization of North Korea.
"We will continue to maintain close communication and cooperation with the United States on North Korea and the North Korean nuclear issue, regardless of the outcome of the presidential election," the spokesman said.
