Lotte considers entering the parking robot business, in talks with Chinese company to demonstrate robots (South Korea)
Lotte Novate (formerly Lotte Data & Communication Technology) is apparently considering a parking robot business as part of its business diversification.
Lotte Innovate is currently in discussions with a Chinese robotics company regarding commercialization. The Chinese company's products have been shown to meet sales standards in the European Union.
In addition to having the CE mark, the product offers relatively low manufacturing costs, so it is believed that it will be possible to obtain the electrical safety certification (KC mark) from the Ministry of Knowledge Economy of Korea soon.
The company aims to conduct a demonstration project as early as this year. If it is introduced in places with high demand, such as department stores and supermarkets, it will be about 30% cheaper than before.
The introduction of parking robots will save customers time while parking, reduce the number of empty parking spaces, save energy, and prevent collisions.
A Lotte Innovate official said, "We are currently working with parking robot-related businesses to consider the business feasibility at a practical level and are considering whether to proceed with the project.
Nothing concrete has been decided yet."
